It is with extreme sadness and a sense of loss that I regret to inform you that long-time JSL webmaster, Paul Boucher, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2013 at age 69 as a result of a heart attack.
Paul had unselfishly given of his time and talents to JSL for years and began his service to the Board in 1998 as Vice-President, then as President in 1999. It was during his year as President that Paul developed and introduced the League's webpage, www.jsl.org, and single handedly moved JSL into the computer age. Since that time he has served as JSL's Webmaster and as an Advisor to the Board. The importance of his contributions to the success of JSL cannot be emphasized enough.
Despite an extremely serious automobile accident in 2003, he continued to serve as webmaster until his untimely death. Paul unveiled a major revision to the webpage in 2005 and was currently working on further revisions to adapt the JSL webpage to mobile devices. He was also very instrumental in developing live Internet streaming of the JSL Championship. He was a multiple recipient of the League's volunteer award which honors those who have given extraordinary time and effort to benefit JSL.
Paul will be sorely missed by his family and friends, especially those of us in JSL who owe a debt of thanks for his time and talents so willingly shared for the benefit of the thousands of kids who swim in JSL.
