Frans de Jong JSL Blue Ridge Cup 2011Teams participating teams in the adult relay at JSL Champs contributed to the JSL for each relay team entered in the event. This year at JSL Champs, the Jefferson Swim League is holding Charity Relays to promote the Ben Hair Just Swim for Life Foundation and Computers4Kids. These relays are really fun, and they support great causes in our area! The idea for a fund-raising adult relay was proposed by Frans de Jong. He was subsequently joined in this effort by Bill McKechnie and Wayne Bookstaver. Their dedication, planning, and funding resulted in the purchase of the JSL Blue Ridge Cup, a trophy which will be awarded annually to the winning adult 200-yard Freestyle Relay team. This year at JSL Champs, the Jefferson Swim League is holding Charity Relays to promote the Ben Hair Just Swim for Life Foundation and Computers4Kids. These relays are really fun, and they support great causes in our area! Relay options are: Blue Ridge Cup Adult Relay-- 100 yard freestyle relay, $100 per team, combined age at least 160 years. Two male and two female participants per team. Trophy for First Place! All funds go to Computers4Kids. Coaches Relay— 100 medley relay, separate heats for teams that have the head coach swimming, cost $50 per team. All funds go to BH-JSL. Alumni relay—100 medley relay, must have at least one male and female swimmer on each team, swimmers can come from different JSL teams, cost $40 per team, combined age at least 100 years. All funds go to BH-JSL. Second Adult relay—T-shirt relay, 100 yard any stroke, at least one male and female swimmer on each team, $50 per team- combined age at least 120 years. All funds go to BH-JSL. Second Coaches Relay- 100 yard inner tube relay,$40 per team, 100 meters of whatever stroke they want. All funds go to BH-JSL. |
